Mercedes-Benz and Media Molecule announced collaboration for 2D platformer based on the Dreams game

Mercedes-Benz and Media Molecule have announced a partnership to bring Dreams and Mercedes, a 2D platformer based on the Dreams game, to market. The official PlayStation Blog has posted the press release.

On July 8th, Dreams and Mercedes will be launched, and Mercedes will be available in Dreams. It will depict a future society in which artificial intelligence has taken over all daily responsibilities, freeing people to create.

We discovered an amazing collaboration partner in Media Molecule to help us take our engagement in the gaming community to the next level. “Dreams provide the ideal environment for gamers to create attractive future visions,” says Bettina Fetzer, Vice President Marketing at Mercedes-Benz AG. “This partnership represents a new method of researching and building a better future for future generations around the world.”

“The best collaborations produce something new, unexpected, and exciting,” says Siobhan Reddy, Media Molecule’s studio director. “Mercedes-Benz was a fantastic partner for our first Mm Co-Labs project. The Mercedes team has encouraged us to let our minds roam and anticipate the future throughout the development process. We’ve enjoyed seeing Scott Vanderburgh, our Dreams Specialist, introduce an entirely different sort of game to Dreams. Thank you to Mercedes for being our first Mm Co-Lab Project partner — we hope this is only the beginning.”

Game Plot

The forthcoming Dreams and Mercedes game transports you to a future set in 2078, where robots are at the ready to help humans develop their “connection to creativity, the natural world, and one another.” The game was created by Alexandre Cadain, an AI expert, with input from Mercedes-Benz, and was brought to life by Scott Vanderburgh, the founder of the Dreams community, and others at Media Molecule.

Dreams were published exclusively on PlayStation 4 on February 14, 2020. The title includes a library of personalized creations as well as tools for making games, cartoons, paintings, sculptures, and music. So by the upcoming partnership with Mercedes Benz, Fans can expect marvelous action and plot.
