LPL Spring Split 2022: Everything you need to know about the upcoming season- The League of Legends competitive circuit in China will begin on 10th January 2022. We already have the list of the teams participating in the upcoming season, the English casters who will do commentary, and the schedule of the Group Stages. Here is everything that you should know about the upcoming LPL Spring Split 2022.

LPL Spring 2022: Participating Teams

There will be 17 teams that will participate in the LPL Spring Split 2022. They are:

LPL Spring Season 2022: Format

To accommodate the 17 teams, the LPL Spring Split will have a quite detailed format.

Group Stage:
- It will have a Single Round Robin format.
- All teams will play a best-of-3 match series.
- The top 10 teams from the Group Stage will qualify for the Playoffs Stage.
  - The top 2 teams will move into the Semi-Finals directly.
  - The teams in 3rd and 4th places will get placed into the last round of the Playoffs Stage.
  - The teams in 5th and 6th places will get placed into the second round of the Playoffs Stage.
  - The teams sitting from the 7th to 10th places will get seeded into the first round of the Playoffs Stage.
- If two or more teams have won the same number of matches, their games differential and head-to-head results will be considered for determining the tie-breaker.
Playoffs Stage: To accommodate the ten qualifying teams, the Playoffs Stage will be done in two phases.
- Phase One: King-of-the-Hill
  - The teams in between the 3rd to 10th places will be divided into two brackets to play a King-of-the-Hill format.
  - The 3rd, 6th, 7th, and 10th placed teams will be in one bracket while the other 4 teams will be in the other bracket.
  - The winners advance to Phase Two of the Playoffs Stage.
  - The winner of the first bracket faces the 2nd placed team in the Double-Elimination Stage, the other faces the 1st placed team.
- Phase Two: Double-Elimination
  - There will be four teams who will play in a double-elimination format to battle for the champions title of the season.
- All matches in the Playoffs Stage will be the best-of-5 series.
- The winner of the LPL Spring Split will automatically qualify for the League of Legends World Championship 2022.

LPL Spring Season 2022: Schedule

The LPL Spring 2022 schedule is as follows:

The Group Stage will start on 10th January and will continue until 20th March.
The matches will be held all seven days every week.
On Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, there will be two best-of-3 match series. The first one will begin at 10:00 AM CET while the second one will begin at 12:00 AM CET.
On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, there will be three best-of-3 match series. The first one will begin at 08:00 AM CET, the second one at 10:00 AM CET, and the last one at 12:00 AM CET.
The schedule for the Playoffs Stage has not yet been released.

LPL Spring 2022: Prize Pool

The 17 teams will fight for a total prize pool of 4,200,000 Chinese Yuan. The rewards will be distributed among the top six teams as follows:

1st Place: Qualifies for the League of Legends World Championship 2022 and gets 2,000,000 Chinese Yuan as reward money.
2nd Place: Gets 1,000,000 Chinese Yuan as reward money.
3rd Place: Gets 500,000 Chinese Yuan as reward money.
4th Place: Gets 300,000 Chinese Yuan as reward money.
5th and 6th Places: Get 200,000 Chinese Yuan each as reward money.
