LoL Worlds 2023 Swiss Stage Day 9: KT, Weibo, and Bilibili advance to Quarterfinals ending LEC Worlds hopes
DPLUS KIA vs KT ROLSTER
The day began with KT surprising League fans with the first-ever Ryze champion pick in LoL Worlds 2023. Combining this with the perfect execution in the bottom lane, they were able to secure a lead and close the first game in 34 minutes. With their backs against the wall, Dplus fought back valiantly in the second game. We also saw some amazing performances from their ADC Deft. Unfortunately, it was not enough and KT took the game for a 2-0 clean sweep and moved to the Quarterfinals.

WEIBO GAMING vs FNATIC
Fnatic came with all guns blazing and won the first game in a dominant fashion, much to the surprise of many people. But they were not able to keep this momentum moving forward in the series. TheShy and Light from Weibo completely crushed Fnatic to bag the second game and equalize the series.
In the third game, Fnatic got outdrafted and outplayed by Weibo in all aspects in the game. The quick 23 minute win secured the quarterfinals spot for Weibo Gaming in Worlds 2023.
G2 ESPORTS vs BILIBILI GAMING
This was the most anticipated series of the day. The LEC hopes were resting on G2 while LPL fans hoped BLG will move to the next stage like other teams from the region. G2 made the critical mistake of giving away Jax to BLG in the first game and they paid dearly for it. BLG top laner Bin almost single-handedly won them the game.
But G2 went back to picking their unique picks in the second game and the move gave them an edge over BLG. Despite some brilliant moments from BLG, it was G2 who held on and won the second game to equalize the series. BLG secured the final game quite convincingly by punishing G2’s unique picks. After a hard-fought 2-1 victory, Bilibili Gaming became the last team to qualify for the quarterfinals in this tournament.
