LoL Worlds 2023 Play-In Day 2: CFO and Team Whales secure victories at Play-In Stage Day 2 – On the second day of the League of Legends 2023 World Championship, we saw some huge plays as well as upsets from minor region teams. Here is the recap of the two series that were held on Worlds 2023 Play-In Stage Day 2.

LoL Worlds 2023 Play-In Day 2: CFO and Team Whales secure victories at Play-In Stage Day 2
The 4 teams in Group B fought on the second day of Play-In Stage. The first best-of-3 series was between CTBC Flying Oyster and DetonatioN FocusMe while the second one was between Team Whales and Team BDS.
CTBC FLYING OYSTER vs DETONATION FOCUSME
The day started with Flying Oyster clean sweeping DFM. The PCS team had better drafts and had solid gameplay which thwarted DFM’s attempts to gain leads. Picking meta champions like Rumble and Jayce helped Oysters to snowball in the late game with their high damage poke lineup. They were able to crush DFM by 2-0 to move ahead in the tournament.

TEAM WHALES vs TEAM BDS
Team BDS had a solid start in this series by winning the first game by a huge margin. It was thanks to their toplaner Adam who single-handedly carried the game with his incredible performance on Darius pick.
But Team Whales learnt from their mistakes and changed their gameplan from the second game. The VCS second seed played cautiously and patiently, taking the next 2 matches into the late game. Team Whales were able to secure more objectives with this playstyle and hence got an edge in team fights. This approach allowed them to comeback and win the series by 2-1 against Team BDS.
After securing their first victories in the Play-In Stage, CTBC Flying Oyster and Team Whales will face each other next to determine which team will advance further in this stage from Group A. Meanwhile, the defeated teams, DetonatioN FocusMe and Team BDS will face each other and the loser between them will be eliminated.
On Oct. 12, the winning teams from both Groups will face each other. The matchups will be PSG Talon vs LOUD and CTBC Flying Oyster vs Team Whales. The teams that win here will move onto the second round of the Worlds Play-In Stage.
