LoL Worlds 2023 Play-In Day 1: PSG and LOUD secure victories at Play-In Stage Day 1

Group A teams had to fight in a best-of-3 series on the first day of the tournament. The first series was between PSG Talon and Rainbow7 while the second one was between GAM Esports and LOUD.

PSG TALON vs RAINBOW7

PSG began their journey at Worlds 2023 with a strong start. In their series against R7, the PCS representatives completely dominated their opponents. From drafting meta champions to executing team fights perfectly, PSG played at a different level. R7 were always playing catch up and was unable to stop PSG from turning their advantages into victories. PSG clean swept the series against R7 by 2-0.

GAM ESPORTS vs LOUD

The CBLOL representatives LOUD also opened their account at Worlds with a win. Although they were pitted against GAM Esports, the VCS representatives failed to perform at their peak level. Although there were occasional bright moments from GAM, LOUD always managed to take control of the game with their better map rotations and team fights. LOUD also secured a dominant 2-0 victory over GAM.

After securing their first victories in the Play-In Stage, LOUD and PSG Talon will face each other next to determine which team will advance further in this stage from Group A. Meanwhile, the defeated teams Rainbow7 and GAM Esports will face each other and the loser between them will be eliminated.

On Oct. 11, the Worlds Play-In Stage Day 2 will be held where teams from Group B will participate to determine their journey in this tournament. In the first series, CTBC Flying Oyster will face DetonatioN FocusMe and in the second series, Team BDS will play against Team Whales.
