LoL Worlds 2022: Two Fnatic players test positive for COVID-19 just days before 2022 League of Legends World Championship begins- The League of Legends World Championship 2022 kicks off on Sept. 29. 24 teams from around the world will compete for a chance to lift the Summoner’s Cup and be crowned the world champions.
But even before the tournament began, some unfortunate news emerged from one of the participating team’s camps. Fnatic has revealed that two players on their roster have tested positive for COVID-19.
Through its official Twitter handle, the organization announced that Upset (the bot lane ADC) and Hylissang (the bot lane support) are COVID-19 positive. Hence, the journey of these two players to Mexico for the Play-In stage will be “delayed accordingly.”
In its statement, Fnatic also said, “We are currently working closely with Riot on the matter and doing absolutely everything within our power to ensure our team arrives safely ahead of their first match on the 29th of September.”
“Our players’ health and well-being are our first and foremost priority. Both players are feeling okay and we wish them a speedy recovery!” Fnatic added.

Fnatic qualified for the Play-In stage of Worlds 2022 after achieving third place in the 2022 LEC Summer Split. Upset and Hylissang played a crucial role in carrying the team to that stage of the Summer Split.
European fans will hope for the well-being of both these players so that they can travel to Mexico and join Fnatic’s roster for the Play-Ins. Otherwise, the organization’s chances in LoL Worlds 2022 will look quite shaky.
Fnatic will play their first best-of-1 match of the Worlds Play-In stage against Evil Geniuses on Sept. 29 from 02:30 AM IST. Fans can watch the live stream on the official LoL Esports YouTube and Twitch channels.
