LoL Worlds 2022 Play-Ins Day 5: MAD Lions and DetonatioN FocusMe advance further in League of Legends World Championship 2022 – On the fifth day of the Play-Ins stage, four teams competed in best-of-5 match series. Only a win could ensure their survival in the Knockout bracket so teams gave their all. Ultimately, it was MAD and DFM who advanced further. Let us take a look at the recap of Play-Ins Day 5 at LoL Worlds 2022.
LoL Worlds 2022: Play-Ins Day 5
MAD lions vs saigon Buffalo
Game 1
MAD started off the series on a strong note. Nisqy’s Sylas and Armut’s Gnar incredible performances took the match away from the Vietnamese team. MAD took a 1-0 lead in the series.
Game 2
But Saigon bounced back in the next game. They secured all map objectives and shut down MAD completely to register a win within 25 minutes. With this, they leveled the series.
Game 3
One defeat was not enough to faze MAD. In the next game, they performed more brilliantly and destroyed Saigon’s Nexus even faster, within 24 minutes. It again gave them a 2-1 lead.

Game 4
Being on match point, MAD Lions gave their all in this match. Although Saigon put up a fierce resistance, their defeat looked inevitable in the late game. Elyoya’s Bel’Veth, Nisqy’s Vex, and Unforgiven’s Varus popped off and secured the series for MAD Lions.

Game 1
It was the Brazilian side who got the lead in the series. Despite DFM’s fight back which extended the game quite long, LOUD held on and was able to win the match. in 44 minutes
Game 2
DFM made a come back in the series in the next game. They dominated LOUD, punishing almost every play by the Brazilian representative. With Yutapon’s Tristana popping off in late game, DFM earned their first victory.
Game 3
The third game swung both sides and no team looked to have a clear advantage. Even though LOUD took the Infernal Dragon Soul, DFM’s better late game comp shut them down. The LJL representative won the game within 30 minutes and took a 2-1 lead in the series.

Game 4
Although LOUD took the early game lead here, DFM took the match away from them in the mid-game. Yutapon’s Kai’sa was unstoppable as he built up an impressive 10/0/1 KDA and won his team the series.
Both series were quite intense as teams tried to give their best performances. Unfortunately for LOUD and Saigon Buffalo, they have been eliminated from LoL Worlds 2022 after their losses.
On the other hand, MAD Lions and DetonatioN FocusMe move ahead in the Play-Ins Round 2. Their last matchups in this Knockout Bracket will be to determine the third and fourth teams to qualify for Worlds Group stage.

MAD Lions will go up against Evil Geniuses while DetonatioN FocusMe will face Royal Never Give Up. Teams will have to play in their best form if they want to advance onto groups main stage at Worlds.
