LOUD, Evil Geniuses, and DetonatioN FocusMe had similar scores and had to undergo a tie-breakers to select the second spot in this group. The final day of the Play-Ins started with Fnatic taking a comfortable win over Beyond Gaming. With this win, they secured the top spot in Group A and directly qualified to the Group Stage.

The Brazilian representatives made short work of Chief Esports Club. This victory helped them end their Play-In stage with a 3-2 score. Unfortunately, the Oceania representatives exit Worlds 2022 without a single victory.

EG had to win this match so as to challenge Fnatic’s top spot. But like last year, DFM again pulled off an upset against the NA third seed. The LJL team’s win tied DFM, EG, and LOUD with similar scores in Group A. These three teams had to go through tie-breakers to determine the second place in their group.
Istanbul wildcats vs isurus
Both Wildcats and Isurus fought their last match in LoL Worlds 2022 against each other. Being winless, both teams looked to end their journey in the tournament with a single victory. This feat was achieved by Isurus as they defeated their opponents in a quite intense clash.
drx vs mad lions
It felt like MAD Lions would be able to give DRX their first loss in this game. The LEC fourth seed secured all map objectives but DRX proved why the LCK region can never be underestimated. DRX made a comeback to secure the game and ended their Play-Ins journey by topping Group B.

This was quite a close match between the two teams. But the LPL fourth seed held their nerves to secure a win against Saigon and clinch the second spot in the Play-Ins Group B.
Play-Ins Round 1 Tiebreakers

Despite winning in their previous match against EG, DFM could not repeat the results in the tie-breaker match. EG completely dominated them this time, securing almost every map objective and closing out the game within 28 minutes.

EG’s carried their momentum to this match and were able to give LOUD a thorough beatdown. The NA third seed shut down almost all attempts of the Brazilian representatives and won the match quite comfortably with a massive lead. This victory allowed EG to get the second spot in Group A.

With the first round of the Play-In stage completed, we will now move on to its next round which is the Play-In Knockouts. Here, The third and fourth spot teams of a group will face each other and the winner will then go on to fight the second spot team of the other group. The winners will then qualify to LoL Worlds 2022 Group stage.
