LoL Worlds 2022: Play-Ins Day 1
Isurus vs mad lions
The World Championship kicked off with the home team Isurus taking on MAD Lions. Although the LLA winners gave tough competition to the LEC fourth seed, it was not enough. MAD took the lead in the mid-game and was able to snowball from there.
fnatic vs evil geniuses
It was the anticipated EU vs NA matchup. Even though NA had been dominating EU players in Champions Queue, it was not meant to be the same in Worlds. Fnatic demolished Evil Geniuses entirely and walked away with their first win in the tournament.

loud vs beyond gaming
It was a completely one-sided affair. Not only did Beyond Gaming get a quick Dragon Soul and the first Baron, but they were also able to end the game even before the 29-minute mark.
mad lions vs Istanbul wildcats
Similar to their first game, MAD Lions fell off early only to make a comeback and walked away with the game. Wildcats made a bad play and threw the game away, allowing MAD to secure their second win of Day 1.
chief esports club vs fnatic
If anyone doubted Fnatic’s form before the Worlds began, this match will silence all critics. Despite Hylissang missing due to COVID and Rhuckz having to replace him, the team performed superbly. Upset stepped up in this game and shut down all plays of Chief Esports Club. He even earned the first Pentakill of LoL Worlds 2022.

detonation focus me vs loud
The results of this match surprised everyone. The young LOUD roster was able to beat the Worlds veteran DetonatioN FocusMe to earn their first win of the day. Fans will be looking forward to more such incredible performances from this Brazilian roster.
saigon buffalo vs Istanbul wildcats
It was an intense match between Saigon Buffalo and Istanbul Wildcats. Both teams skirmished constantly, trading kills and objects back to forth. Ultimately, it was Saigon who was able to come out on top and begin their Worlds journey with a win.
drx vs royal never give up
This was the most anticipated match of the day, the epitome of League rivalry, LCK vs LPL. And fans were not disappointed. Despite having an edge throughout the match, DRX had to give their all to stop RNG from making a comeback. RNG’s fate was sealed after they lost the crucial Hextech Soul fight, allowing DRX to close the game.
