LoL Worlds 2022 Group Stage Day 5: T1 and EDG advance from Group A to the next stage, Here is the recap – The second week of the League of Legends 2022 World Championship has begun. On Day 5, the teams in Group A competed against each other to finalize who will advance to the next stage. Except for Cloud9, it was a close call between the other three teams. Ultimately, T1 and EDward Gaming make it out and qualify ahead in the tournament.

The second week kicked off with the classic NA vs EU rivalry. Despite their abysmal previous week’s performance, C9 showed up big against Fnatic. They secured almost every map objective and closed the game within 28 minutes. This was C9’s first win at Worlds, keeping their hopes in the tournament alive.

t1 vs fnatic
Both teams were quite equal during the early and mid-game. Unfortunately, Fnatic failed to punish the T1 Sivir-Yuumi combo. Hence, they got routed by a fed Gumayusi in the late game. T1 was able to secure the game after taking down the second Baron.
cloud9 vs edward gaming
It seemed that C9’s magic faded after their previous win. EDG completely annihilated the 2022 LCS Summer winner, beating them in a one-sided match. They secured all the map objectives and finished the game in 26 minutes, giving away only a single kill. With this loss, Cloud 9’s Worlds journey ended.

It was a do-or-die situation for Fnatic as they went up against the defending Worlds champion team. But the EU third seed faced a similar fate akin to C9 in the previous game. EDG won this game also one-sidedly by taking all the map objectives and securing victory within 30 minutes. With this loss, Fnatic was eliminated from LoL Worlds 2022.

t1 vs cloud9
C9 looked to go out with a bang as they picked unique champs like Heimerdinger and Bel’Veth in their last match. Although there were moments of brilliance shown by the NA team, Gumayusi’s Lucien them down in the late game. His impressive 10/0/3 KDA helped T1 close out the game.
edward gaming vs t1
The final game of the day was a banger. T1 took down the defending Worlds champions and showcased why they are one of the favorites to lift the Summoner’s Cup this year. Zeus, Faker, and Gumayusi crushed all hopes of EDG as they closed out the game in 28 minutes for their team.

It has been a wild ride for the teams in Group A. T1 destroyed everyone to clinch the top spot in the group. On the other hand, EDG also silenced their haters by taking the second spot.
