ABILITIES

Kennen-Passive MARK OF THE STORM (PASSIVE)

Enemies hit by Kennen’s abilities receive a Mark for 6 seconds, which stacks up to 3 times. At 3 stacks, the marks are consumed to stun the target for some time and restore 25 energy.

Kennen-Q THUNDERING SHURIKEN

Throws a charged shuriken in the target direction and deals magic damage to the first enemy hit.

Kennen-W ELECTRICAL SURGE

Passive: Auto-Attacks grant a stack of Electrical Surger on-attack. On reaching 4 stacks, his next auto-attack will deal bonus magic damage and apply a Passive Mark and consume all stacks on-hit.

Active: Sends out a surge of electricity to all nearby enemies affected with the Mark of the Storm(Passive), or caught in his Ultimate, dealing magic damage.

Kennen-E LIGHTNING RUSH

Transforms into a ball of electricity, becomes ghosted, and gains 100% bonus movement speed for 2 seconds. After a brief delay, Kennen can reactivate this ability. Kennen deals magic damage to all enemies he passes through and restores 40 energy the first time he damages an enemy with this ability. He also gains bonus attack speed for 4 seconds upon exiting Lightning Rush.

Kennen-R SLICING MAELSTROM (ULTIMATE)

Active: Summons a Shuriken Storm around him for 3 seconds, gaining bonus armor and magic resistance while striking bolts of lightning down on all enemies within range every 0.5 seconds, dealing magic damage. Each maelstrom hit applies a Mark of the Storm, up to a maximum of 3. The storm deals 10% increased damage with each successive strike against a target, up to a maximum of 150% damage.

BUILD

Hextech Gunblade is the first core item for Kennen because he needs the physical and magical vamp to sustain himself during the laning phase and during clashes. The Hextech Bolt passive which deals damage and applies a slow will help Kennen dominate his lane and secure kills outside the laning phase. Alternatively, if you are snowballing your lane, build  Infinity Orb instead for a surprising amount of burst damage.

Ionian Boots of Lucidity grants ability haste and cooldown reduction for your summoner spells. Upgrade with the  Protobelt Enchant if you are ahead for more mobility and burst damage. Upgrade with the  Stasis Enchant if your team lacks an initiator so you can start team fights with your ultimate together with the Stasis active. Alternatively, you can also upgrade with the  Teleport Enchant for split pushing and more organized or advanced plays.

Liandry’s Torment is the second core item on Kennen. Its Torment passive will allow you to shred tanks with its HP-based damage and since you have quick access to stuns, you’ll easily double its damage. The Madness passive works well with the Conqueror Keystone rune which both provides 10% bonus damage their stacks are maxed.

Rabadon’s Deathcap grants the highest amount of AP in the game. You’ll be destroying the enemy team with your combos after obtaining this item.

Rylai’s Crystal Scepter adds additional utility to your kit thanks to the slow effect it adds to your abilities. There’s little to no chance of escaping you once you have this item.

Morellonomicon allows you to counter high sustain enemies because it applies Grievous Wounds to your abilities and empowered attacks. Consider building this earlier if you are against Dr. Mundo, Sona, or Soraka. If the enemy team has no sustain or vamp, build  Void Staff instead for the extra magic penetration.
