League of Legends New Legend: Nilah the Unbound Joy will be the next champion arriving in Summoner’s Rift – The champion trailer of Nilah the Unbound Joy was revealed yesterday on all of League of Legends’ social media handles. By watching the trailer, one can easily conclude that she will be a highly mobile champion, a trend that League has been following lately.
Nilah looks to be an assassin-type champion, having an aggressive kit that can help her deal with squishy enemies easily. The lore in the trailer shows Nilah talking about evil and how she plans to defeat it. We see her sprinting across a body of water while chasing a Kraken.
If we look at her gameplay skills and mechanics, she looks like the female version of Yasuo. Her abilities allow her to move forward toward and around enemies, making her chase enemies quite easily. Moreover, she uses a water whip as her weapon, which means that her basic attacks have a higher range and are not full melee.

If we analyze the lore part in the champion reveal trailer, Nilah seems to be empowered by a water demon and worships the Lord of the Waters. We see her interacting with the water demon inside the game.
Role and Abilities of Nilah in League of Legends
From what we see from her gameplay style, Nilah is perfectly fit to be played as an ADC. Her ranged basic attacks, AoE damage skills, and crowd-control immune skill make her quite a deadly force on the bottom lane of Summoner’s Rift. By having a support champion that can engage or slow down enemies, Nilah will be able to be more deadly in team fights. This can be seen in the trailer where Rakan engages three enemy champions and Nilah jumps into the team fight to finish them all. Thus, her synergy with support champions can be a deadly combination.
For such high firepower, the developers might assign her lower stats to keep her balanced. While she can be played in the middle or top lane, her lower durability might prevent her from winning against meta champions in these lanes.
Release date of Nilah in League of Legends
While fans and players can expect Nilah to be released this year in League of Legends, the release date has not yet been confirmed. She might be the last champion to arrive on Summoner’s Rift this year, so her release might be a few months away. Moreover, the Summer Splits of all regional leagues have or will start this month. Thus, her release might be a bit late so that teams can get time to adjust to her.
