League of Legends New Champion: Naafiri, the Hounds of Iron will be released soon- Back in January 2023, Riot Games had teased that the upcoming Darkin assassin champion back will be an animal-type one. Finally, on June 21, the official teaser of Naafiri, the Hounds of Iron has been revealed. Here is everything you need to know about the upcoming champion.

Who is Naafiri?
According to the cinematic trailer, Naafiri hails from the desert region of Shurima. She carries or is possessed by the Darkin blade which turns her into a fearsome assassin.
According to League of Legends lore, the Darkin are ferocious God-Warriors from Shurima. They got corrupted while fighting in the Void War and hence were imprisoned into weapons by the mages.
Currently, there are 3 Darkin champions in League of Legends: Aatrox, Varus and Kayn (when he is consumed by the weapon Rhaast). Apart from them, Vladimir has also been taught blood magic by a Darkin. Thus, with Naafiri’s introduction, there will be about 5 champions who are a part of this destructive group.
Naafiri character design and playstyle
Riot Games had previously revealed that Naafiri will have a different playstyle from regular champions. From the released trailer, we can see that she is a hound/wolf-type champion that has the Darkin blade.
Even though she will be an assassin, the developers had said that players will be able to focus on macro play using this character. Hence, she will also provide some utility to her teammates.
When will Naafiri be released?
The exact release date of Naafiri has not yet been announced by Riot Games. But according to Riot’s schedule she might be introduced in the upcoming few patches. Hence, we might see her in the game in a month or two.
