League of Legends fans have selected Skarner as the next champion to get a VGU update- It has been 12 years since League of Legends was released. While the basic objective remains the same, the game has become more advanced. New mechanics and a lot of complex champions have been added to make the game more competitive and engaging for the players. One downside to this is that older champions are looking more out-of-date when compared to the newer ones added in the game.

The developer team at League of Legends is aware of this fact and is working on this. For the past few years, the dev team has started taking polls where fans can vote to select which champion will get the next VGU update. Recently, it was Udyr who received a complete VGU overhaul. From his character design to his various skins, everything has received a new appearance update. Now, Skarner will be the next champion to get a VGU update.

Skarner is a crystalline scorpion who lives in an unknown abandoned valley in Shurima. As a part of the Brackern race who are currently in slumber, Skarner is known for his wisdom and deep connection to the land. As the only awake member of his race, Skarner is determined to protect his kind from people who are looking to harm them.

Skarner’s VGU update details

Skarner’s VGU update will provide him with a new base model, new skins, and updated abilities that make him correlate to the modern aesthetics of League of Legends.

In the poll, Skarner secured the top spot by receiving about 33% of the total vote, with the other four League of Legends champions not even receiving 20% of their votes. Skarner beat out Tryndamere, Shyvana, Kog’maw, and Nocturne who were also on the list of champions to receive a VGU.

However, Ryan Mireles, the Lead Producer has stated that Shyvana may be the next champion to receive a VGU update done solely by the dev team without any poll. Additionally, the Gothic skin line won the poll by getting the most votes and will thus receive a “skin thematic revamp.”
