Adin Ross’s stream triggered a flurry of online controversy, raising questions about the types of personalities and content Kick permits on its platform. The unprecedented stream even caught the attention of DjWheat, a former Twitch figurehead, who added his voice to the discourse.

DjWheat, who previously served as Twitch’s Director of Creator Development for over a decade before departing the company in 2022, took to Twitter to respond to Kick’s tweet about Adin Ross’s stream. In his response, DjWheat cryptically remarked, “Your business is a simulation.”
Bijan Tehrani, co-founder of Kick, wasted no time in responding to DjWheat’s comment with a succinct “Rent free.” This terse reply encapsulated Tehrani’s stance on DjWheat’s criticism of Kick.

Despite the apparent tension, DjWheat didn’t take the situation too seriously. In response to Tehrani’s retort, the former Twitch executive posted a meme with the caption “Mad,” injecting a touch of humor into the exchange.
Kick also joined the banter, telling DjWheat to “enjoy the show” and highlighting that he follows the company on X/Twitter. DjWheat responded with a GIF of actor Nick Offerman making an “I see you” gesture towards the camera.
This recent exchange isn’t the first time DjWheat has expressed concerns about Kick. In 2022, he referred to the platform as a “sham,” underscoring his ongoing scrutiny of the streaming service.
