JDG becomes MSI 2023 champions by defeating BLG in the Grand Finals- The stage for the Mid-Season Invitational 2023 Grand Finals was set. We had seen teams from both JD Gaming and Bilibili Gaming crush their opponents in the tournament. Now, it was time for them to compete for the ultimate prize. After an intense series, JDG triumphed over their regional opponents to become the MSI 2023 champions. Here is the highlight of the series.

JDG becomes MSI 2023 champions by defeating BLG in the Grand Finals
On May 21, the LPL first and second seeds (JDG and BLG respectively) competed in the Grand Finals of MSI 2023. It was a rematch of the LPL Spring 2023 finals.
Game 1
It was JDG who kicked off the series on a strong note. They surprised their opponents with their Nautilus jungle pick and it worked in their favor. BLG failed to get past JDG’s tanky frontline in team fights and hence had to surrender many objectives. JDG snowballed and won the game in 25 minutes, getting a lead in the series.

Game 2
The loss did not faze BLG as they switched to their comfort champion picks in the second game. It helped them pop off in the late game against the enemy team. JDG fell short on multiple occasions and it hampered them from taking back control. BLG equalized the series by winning the game in 31 minutes.
Game 3
In this game, it was JDG’s time to bounce back and showcase what a perfect League of Legends game looks like. They secured all map objectives on the Summoner’s Rift and apart from their support player Missing, none of the other players died even once. JDG speedran through BLG and won the game in 23 minutes.
Game 4
With momentum on their side, JDG looked unstoppable. Even when BLG selected some of their comfort champions in this game, JDG just outplayed them on multiple factors. Despite their backs against the wall, BLG was not able to perform any miracle plays to stay alive in the series. JDG won the game in 22 minutes and registered a 3-1 win over BLG.
League of Legends fans saw some of the most clinical plays from JDG in today’s series. Even though BLG had some brilliant moments, they overall failed to match the superior team fighting ability of JDG. JDG become the 2023 Mid-Season Invitational, bringing the trophy back to the LPL region for the fifth time.
