Indian teams will not be participating in FFWS 2022 Sentosa- Free Fire World Series (FFWS) is the largest esports event of the mobile game held every year. Teams have to win their regional Free Fire league tournaments to directly qualify for the event. The runners-up might also get a chance to participate in the Play-Ins. Unfortunately, Indian teams will not be able to participate in FFWS 2022 Sentosa.

The Indian government banned Free Fire in India on February 14, removing it from all the application stores. This made it difficult for Garena, the publisher of Free Fire, to conduct any esports tournaments for the game officially in the country. Thus, the Free Fire India Championship (FFIC) 2022 Spring which was going to be held here was canceled due to this reason.

The winning team of FFIC 2022 Spring would have directly qualified for Free Fire World Series 2022. The team at the second spot would have qualified for the Play-Ins stage. With the cancellation of the FFIC 2022 Spring, no Indian team will be participating in the upcoming FFWS Sentosa.

Similar to India, the 2 teams that would have qualified from the CIS region will not be able to do so. It is because the regional tournament here, known as the Free Fire Pro League CIS Season 4, was canceled due to the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine. Thus, this year, the Free Fire World Series will have only 18 teams participating from the 10 regional leagues.

The Free Fire World Series 2022 Sentosa has a total prize pool of $2,000,000 USD. The Play-Ins will be held on May 14 and 10 teams will be participating in them. From here, only 4 teams will be able to qualify for the Finals that will be held on May 21.

Stay tuned as we bring to you more news and the latest updates from Free Fire and its esports circuits.
