Indian Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced that the government plans to focus on Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, and Comics when presenting the financial Budget for 2022-2023. (AVGC). She stated in the budget that an AVGC promotion task group will be established with all stakeholders to recommend strategies to achieve this and enhance domestic capacity to serve overseas markets and global demand. However, the Ministry of Sports has still seemed inactive towards the esports committee or federation formation for Asian Games 2022 like India Esports Asian Games 2022.
Indian Government Cold Response Towards Esports Committee can Hamper India’s efforts in Asian Games 2022
The country does not yet have a national esports federation, according to Mr. Anurag Thakur( Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports). This could affect Indian athletes participating in the 2022 Asian Games. The Indian Olympic Association sends players and teams from India to the Asian Games Organizing Committee, according to Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Anurag Singh Thakur. Esports are included in this.

The International Olympic Committee recognizes the event as the second-largest of its kind, behind only the Olympics. In 2018, the Asian Games paved the door for esports representation by including it as a demonstration sport. Esports will be part of the official program and a medal event in 2020 and 2022.
