India-based real money game apps of daily fantasy sports and rummy will be allowed with a recent update in Google’s policy – There has been a recent change in policy by US-based tech giant Google to undertake a trial program to allow Indian users to download daily fantasy sports apps and rummy games on the Play Store. In order to allow the aforementioned apps on the Play Store in India, Google said that a one-year trial program will begin on September 28, 2022, and will end on September 28, 2023.
Google has long maintained a strict policy by banning daily fantasy sports apps, mostly because they think many new internet users are wasting money while trying to master the intricacies of these services. The tech giant stance in this regard was quite clear as they recently temporarily removed the well-known app Paytm from its Play Store because the Indian fintech company was encouraging what Google considered to be gambling in the app.

However, this new policy change will bring a wave of change considering these fantasy sports apps will be able to operate freely without facing any restrictions as before. However, developers have to submit an application form with specific information about their firm and the app in order to have their rummy and/or daily fantasy sports apps published on the Playstore platform.
“We are constantly exploring ways for local developers to build successful businesses and offer delightful experiences on Google Play. Through this pilot program, we are taking a measured approach that will help us collate learnings and retain an enjoyable and safe experience for our users,” Google said in a statement.
Also, apps that want to take part in the trial program must make sure that their users are 18 years old or older, that their addresses have been entered, that their local states allow daily fantasy sports, and that their bank information and PAN have been entered for tax purposes. And now, this new policy is subject to how users and companies bring about a change in the already existing market of fantasy sports.
