IEM Road to Rio 2022 America: Check Teams, Schedule, and Format of the event

IEM Road to Rio 2022 America: All the open qualifiers for the IEM Road to Rio 2022: America ended with 13 teams advancing to the Major qualifiers. They will be joined by three direct invites who have managed to make their way onto the PGL Antwerp Major 2022 legends scene. These 16 teams from North and South America will now compete to be placed in one of the six available slots for the IEM Rio Major 2022. All matches are scheduled to be played in an offline format from October 5th to October 9th. The main event is taking place in Brazil and all the tickets have already been sold out. The prize pool of this event is one million USD.

America is one of three regions in this tournament. Europe and Asia’s regions are also part of the IEM Road to Rio 2022. Here is all you need to know about the IEM Road to Rio 2022 America.

Teams 

A total of 16 teams will participate in the IEM Road to Rio from America where three teams have received a direct invite based on their performance at the PGL Antwerp Major 2022, while the remaining 13 slots got their way through six regional open qualifiers.

Round 1 matchup which is on October 5th, 2022 is as follows :

2. Imperial vs. Isurus
3. Team Liquid vs. Team oNe

6. MIBR vs. O PLANO
7. Squirtle Squad vs. Evil Geniuses

Format 

1. Ten teams from the bottom of the scoreboard will be eliminated and the top six teams will be moved to the IEM Rio Major 2022.
2. The top six positions will be decided by a best of 3 series game.
3. All the matches will be the best of 1 series matches, except the elimination matches which will be the best of 3 series matches.
