World’s leading multinational technology company, IBM has announced a multi-year deal with Overwatch League. IBM aims to bring its cloud computing and artificial intelligence technology to Esports. In this deal, IBMÂ technology will be used in 2020 Grand Finals and the entirety of the 2021 & 2022 Overwatch League Seasons. 2020 Overwatch League Grand Finals started from 8th – 10th October.
IBM and the Overwatch League
Through this deal, Overwatch League and IBM plan to work closely to develop technology solutions during 2021 Overwatch League Season. They will work on machine learning to improve the ranking system of League and utilize all capabilities to create the live broadcast predictive analysis.

We and IBM will work to do so, IBM’s AI and machine learning technologies will help us to bring innovative engagement to our fans and teams.”

The announcement of the partnership between IBM and Overwatch League is IBM’s First entry into Esports. IBM has been part of the gaming industry since 1985, they are creating Chips, manufacturing hardware and providing Software for developers. In the last 35 years, IBM has worked with Esports and gaming companies through providing them NLP, PowerPC processors and Cloud technology.

The Overwatch League is major global Esports league of Overwatch which worked on city-based teams across Europe, Asia, North America and Europe. Overwatch was created and published by Blizzard Entertainment.
