Honor of Kings World Champion Cup 2021: Biggest prize pool for a mobile esports tournament ever. Tencent and VSPN will be organizing the 6th Honor of Kings Esports tournament this year. They have been organizing tournaments for the game Honor of Kings since 2016 every year. The 2021 Honor of Kings world champion cup is supposed to be the tournament with the biggest prize pool in mobile Esports history ever. This year’s event will not be an online event like last year. The tournament will be played offline in various cities of China.
On 23rd January 2021, Tencent announced the 2021 Honor of Kings champion cup which would be the tournament with the biggest prize pool in mobile Esports history. They increased the prize pool from ¥ 32,000,000 CNY to ¥ 50,000,000 CNY ($7,717,002 USD). This is a big step taken by Tencent which will increase the popularity and competitiveness of mobile Esports in the coming times.
In the Beijing Esports conference, it was revealed that the Grand finals of the 2021 Honor of Kings champion cup will be held on the 21st of August this year, at the National Olympics sports center in Beijing. The tournament will be an offline event held in 6 different cities of China as follows: Shanghai, Nanjing, Chongqing, Qingdao, Wuhan, and Beijing.

World Champion Cup 2021: Format
The tournament will commence with 2 weeks of Group stage matches initially. The 12 teams will be divided into 2 groups where they’ll play in a single round-robin format. 30 matches will be played in these two weeks, after which the top 4 teams from each group would advance for the knockout stage.
- Week 1: July 28th – 1st August 2021 in Nanjing.
- Week 2: August 4th – August 8th, 2021 in Chongqing.
Knockout stages:
- Quarterfinals: 12th – 15th of August 2021 in Qingdao
- Semifinals: 21st – 22nd August 2021 in Wuhan
- Finals: 28th August 2021 in Beijing
