Honor of Kings becomes top grossing mobile game worldwide in February 2022, Check the full list here – Sensor Tower has once again released the list of the top-grossing mobile games of the previous month, which was February. There are three categories under this, the Google Play revenue, the App Store revenue, and the Overall revenue. In the App Store revenue and Overall revenue lists, Honor of Kings, PUBG Mobile, and Genshin Impact took the top 3 spots respectively. They also feature in the top 10 list in the Google Play revenue list except for Honor of Kings (since the game is only available in China where Google Play Store does not operate).

From these lists provided by Sensor Tower, we can crown the top-grossing mobile game worldwide for February 2022 which is Honor of Kings from Tencent. The game has generated total revenue of approximately $225 million in player spending in the previous month. As the game is only available in China and a few other countries, about 95.2 percent of Honor of Kings’ revenue came from China. Following this 2.5 percent of the revenue came from Taiwan, while approximately 1 percent was generated in Thailand.

The second spot in the top-grossing mobile game worldwide for February is also held by another game from Tencent which is PUBG Mobile. This game has earned $205.2 million in gross revenue in the previous month through player spending. About 64.2 percent of PUBG Mobile’s revenue was from China (where it has been labeled as Game For Peace). Approximately 7.7 percent of the revenue came from the United States. The next top-grossing games on the list are Genshin Impact from miHoYo, Candy Crush Saga from King, and Roblox from Roblox Corporation.

For the month of February 2022, the global mobile games sector generated an estimated $6.6 billion in revenue from player spending across the App Store and Google Play platforms. There is a decrease of 7.6 percent when compared to last year’s statistics of the same month. A major reason for this is that the COVID-19 pandemic finally showing signs of ending and people are going back to their normal life schedules.

The top market for global revenue in February 2022 was the U.S., which generated 28.6 percent of total player spending worldwide. Japan follows them at the second spot as they generated 18.8 percent of the total revenue. The third place is taken by China with 17 percent of the total revenue generated here. (Remember China does not have Google Play so all of these metrics are based on the revenue generated from the App Store).
