Sensor Tower Today released the list of most profitable games (mobile) on basis of their total grossing in the month of June. Honor of Kings (Arena of Valor) gamers spent about $277 million on title purchases in June, making Tencent’s MOBA the month’s most profitable mobile game. Sensor Tower, a research and consulting firm, provided the data.
With $213.8 million in gross revenue in June 2021, Tencent’s PUBG Mobile was the second highest-earning mobile game in the world, up 11% year over year from June 2020. China accounted for 53.3 percent of PUBG Mobile’s income from its localized release Game for Peace, with the United States accounting for 11.2 percent. This is not a surprise since the game of peace was always golden hen for Tencent Corp.
In June, the top ten grossing mobile games produced a total of $1.4 billion in consumer spending, with each title making more than $100 million on its own, setting a new record for the number of titles to reach this milestone in a single month. This is despite the easing of COVID-19-related social constraints in many parts of the world, indicating that new habits formed during the lockdown, such as increased usage of mobile devices for entertainment and necessity, have stuck. Last month, consumers spent $7.3 billion on mobile games across the App Store and Google Play, up approximately 10% from the previous month.
