Hi5 becomes the winner of Pokemon UNITE Asia Champions League 2023 – The two-day UNITE Asia Champions League concluded today. It was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and 6 teams from different regions of the continent competed in the tournament. The Playoffs of the Pokémon UNITE Asia Champions League 2023 were held on Day 2. 4 teams had qualified from the Group Stage to the Playoffs.

SEMIFINALS

In the first semifinal series, T2 (from Japan) and TeamMYS (from Malaysia) competed against each other. While T2 got wins in the first two games, TeamMYS produced a reverse sweep by securing the next three games in the series. With a 3-2 win, TeamMYS advanced to the Grand Finals.

In the second semifinal series, RISE (from Indonesia) and Hi5 (from Taiwan) faced off against one another. It was a back-and-forth series with both teams winning games alternatively. Ultimately, Hi5 emerged as the winner with a  3-2 score and secured their Grand Finals spot.

THIRD PLACE MATCH

After losing in the semifinals, teams T2 and RISE fought to determine the third-place finish. The Japanese representatives looked more dominant in the series. T2 registered a 3-1 finish against RISE and secured third place in the Pokémon UNITE Asia Champions League 2023.

GRAND FINALS

We saw epic gameplay between Hi5 and TeamMYS in the Grand Finals. While TeamMYS won the first two games in the series, Hi5 bounced back and won the next three games. It was an intense series and it was team Hi5 that was able to earn the victory. They became the champions of Pokémon UNITE Asia Champions League 2023.

Both Indian representative teams (Revenant Esports and Marcos Gaming) failed to make a mark at the Pokémon UNITE Asia Champions League 2023. But we hope that they will come back strong and showcase better performance in future Pokémon UNITE tournaments.
