Genshin Impact becomes the most discussed game on Twitter in 2021: A Twitter list of the most discussed games in 2021 shows that Genshin Impact is a juggernaut in the gaming world, and it doesn’t look like it’s slowing down. The Twitter Year in Review presents insights into the most tweeted games of the year, and Genshin Impact is at the top of this year’s list.
Its rapid growth across 2021 has solidified the game’s unique position in the online gaming space. The game was compared often to titles like Breath of The Wild and Ni No Kuni.

No details have been released, but it’s not surprising that the JRPG is atop the Twitter charts. Developer miHoYo has provided plenty of content for players throughout the past year, from regular updates to big-name crossovers. It outperformed other hugely popular games like Apex Legends and Final Fantasy XIV, the latter of which had its own breakout year.
A comparison to the previous year’s Year in Review illustrates the extent to which Genshin got ahead of the competition in 2021. The elemental-action fighter only had two months before the end of the year to score eighth overall, so there is still plenty of room for improvement to overtake its competition. However, that is not the only factor indicating success. Data from October 2021 showed that there were nine million players who played Genshin Impact every day, with 53 million unique players.
Genshin Impact may not have gone away within a year like some other titles, but it sure looks like it’s sticking around for a while.
About the game
