Garena Free Fire became the most downloaded mobile game worldwide for December 2021: With close to 24 million installs in December 2021, Garena Free Fire has become the most downloaded smartphone game worldwide, up 28.2 percent from December 2020. India, with around 26% of all downloads, and Brazil, with 12%, were the countries with the most apps installed during this time period.

Last month, Psyonix’s Rocket League SideSwipe was the second most downloaded mobile game in the world, with 21.6 million downloads. The United States had the most Rocket League Sideswipe installs at 27 percent, followed by Mexico at 5.9%. Subway Surfers, Poppy Rope Game, and Roblox rounded out the top five most installed mobile games.

In December 2021, the global mobile games market generated 4.9 billion downloads across the App Store and Google Play, up 1.8 percent year over year. India was the top market for global game downloads, with 717.4 million installs, or 14.8 percent of all downloads worldwide. With nearly 9% of all downloads, the United States came in second, followed by Brazil with 8.2 percent.
