After continuous dialogues, Uttar Pradesh Government joins hand with popular South Asian Gaming company Garena to promote eSports in the state.
The Singapore-based company is very much familiar among the eSports community in India with its major title, Garena Free Fire gathering praise from all over the world. Since its removal in the country, there has been nothing to indicate the title’s return. However, this partnership has certainly changed the narrative.

Garena has always been looking for opportunities to build its base in the country. The partnership with the Uttar Pradesh government has happened just at the right time with the community desperately hoping for the return of its major title i.e. Garena Free Fire. This partnership will certainly make Uttar Pradesh a hub for eSports as the state is likely to hold and host top eSports tournaments.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed in the presence of Girish Chandra Yadav, UP’s sports minister and high commissioner of Singapore to India Simon Wong.
Meanwhile, Chief secretary, sports, Navneet Sehgal, Sea Limited (Garena) co-founder and chief operating officer Ye Gang, co-founder and CEO Yotta Sunil Gupta also graced the occasion.
With Garena trying to build its presence in the country to somewhat impress the government of India, the Free Fire community in India are very much looking forward to the next developments.
