G2’s Valorant Roster Update: Former CSGO Veterans Hoody, Meddo Replaced Keloqz, and koldamenta. At the conclusion of Valorant Champions 2021, Riot Games revealed their plans for the next season of the Valorant Champions Tour. Professional Valorant groups all around the world are making the necessary changes to their rosters in preparation for VCT 2022 or EMEA Challengers stage, which will begin in January 2022.
For the second year in a row, G2 Esports will play in the VALORANT Champions Tour, this time with a completely redesigned EU team. Aaro “hoody” Peltokangas, Johan “Meddo” Renbjörk Lundborg, and coach Daniil “pipsoN” Meshcheryakov have all joined the group from Giants Gaming.
With this New Addition in G2’s Valorant, Current Lineup as Follows:
Both Meddo and Hoddy are former CSGO veterans, Aaro “hoody” Peltokangas was most notably played for Finnish teams such as NYYRIKKI Esports and HAVU Gaming until quitting in December 2020 to pursue a career in VALORANT. Similarly Meddo has experience with Fnatic before pursuing a career with Valorant.
G2 had a stronger first VCT season, especially after their mid-season shakeup, when they became the first team to defeat Sentinels on LAN at Masters Berlin and advanced to the quarterfinals. Due to VCT points acquired, they were a couple of slots short of Champions, but they lost back-to-back games in the Last Chance Qualifier against Liquid and Guild, bringing their season to a conclusion in mid-October.
Time to make Champions. 👊
