Following a series of underwhelming performance for G2 Valorant Roster s that led to their elimination from the 2023 Challengers season, G2 Esports has announced significant changes to their VALORANT roster. Most of the team’s players, including dapr, wippie, penny, and OXY, along with coaches Immi and Dani, will be departing from the organization.
G2 bid farewell to its Valorant roster except for ShahZam
Among the departures, the only player to remain is ShahZam, formerly a member of Sentinels. However, ShahZam will be transitioning into a new role within G2 Esports as a content creator. Despite this change, ShahZam has expressed his strong motivation to continue competing in professional VALORANT.

G2 Esports’ journey in the 2023 Challengers VALORANT season came full circle, as the team ended the season in a similar position to where they started. Prior to the season’s commencement, G2 was highly regarded as one of the top contenders in the NA Challengers scene, primarily due to their talented player core.
With former Sentinels and Version1 members, along with the addition of the young talent OXY, the organization secured a 3rd place finish in the first split and even reached the grand finals of the Mid-Season Faceoff.
The former G2 players, namely ShahZaM, wippie, and OXY, are not done with their VALORANT journey. Despite the team’s disappointing second-half performance, these three players stood out as highly-rated individuals throughout the entire Challengers season. With their skill and reputation, all five departing G2 players are likely to receive interest from other Challengers teams or aspiring teams looking to bolster their rosters.
As for G2 Esports, it remains uncertain whether they will continue competing in the NA region. While there is an abundance of available talent, the region is fiercely competitive, and discussions surrounding the sustainability of VALORANT and esports as a whole have reached new heights.
