Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8: Where to find the IO guards in Fortnite Season 8. IO Guards are back in Fortnite Season 8 after their heroic acts throughout the Season 7 storyline. As the alien threat has dissipated, the island of Fortnite is under attack from the Cube Monsters. Due to this, it appears that the IO Guards have decided to help once again to defend the island. Epic Games has created some seasonal challenges that will reflect the stay of IO in some way.
Last season, the IO Guards and Outposts were hot spots on the map, but now they appear to have a new home. Guards used to be present around IO Outposts, but there were relatively few on the map.
How to locate the IO Guards in Fortnite Season 8
In order to locate the guards, players will have an edge if they have completed Charlotte’s questline. Players must go to IO outposts across the map to find guards, which are the only places they can find them.
However, if players lack that luxury, they can see the IO Guard locations below. Furthermore, Charlotte displays these coordinates on the player’s map, which makes it easier for the player to locate the IO Guards.
- East of Misty Meadows, southeast of Big Snowy Mountain
- In the southern part of Holly Hedges, west of the red aftermath
- On the middle of the map, to the southwest of The Aftermatch
- On the coast, north of Dirty Docks
- Southeast of Pleasant Park by the river
Outposts in this season are somewhat smaller than satellite stations in Season 7, but they do have some IO Guards. As the IO will have a number of NPC quests in Season 8, players will need to memorize the locations.
Before interacting with the above areas, players should land nearby and grab weapons. Players will be attacked as soon as the IO Guards notices them. They will get an indication by a bright red exclamation point above their heads. As players complete these Character Punch Card challenges, they will earn tons of XP towards their Battle Pass during Season 8. We can expect more Character Quests to appear during the season, and we should expect players to revisit these locations and engage the IOU again in the near future.
