Fnatic becomes the first team to reach VCT Masters 2023 Tokyo Grand Finals- We are upon the last leg of the VCT 2023 Masters Tokyo Playoffs. On June 21, the top 4 VALORANT teams were set to compete against one another to determine who will have a chance at the Grand Finals. In the first series, the America’s Evil Geniuses squad faced EMEA’s Fnatic and fans witnessed one of the best gameplays of the tournament. Both teams were neck-to-neck in competition and it was Fnatic that came out as the ultimate winner by a small margin. Here is everything you need to know about the series.
Fnatic becomes the first team to reach VCT Masters 2023 Tokyo Grand Finals
Fnatic and EG faced each other in the best-of-3 series in the Upper Bracket Finals. Both teams had won their past two series in the tournament with 2-0 results and this matchup was bound to be a tough one.
Game 1
The first map was picked by Fnatic and it was Lotus. The EMEA team showed everyone why they chose this particular map by completely crushing EG by 10-2 rounds in the first half. They closed the game quickly in the second half to register a win by 13-3 round score and gained a lead in the series.
Game 2
But Evil Geniuses bounced back in the second map Fracture which was their pick. In the first half, the American side registered a massive 9-3 round score. While Fnatic managed to get some momentum in their favor in the second half, EG was still the ultimate winner as they secured the map with a 13-9 round score.

Game 3
It all came down to the decider third map Split. Both teams fought with all their might and the series looked even. EG almost managed to force an overtime but it was Fnatic’s Leo who saved the game for his team in the last second. Fnatic won the map with a 13-11 round score and also the series by 2-1.
After defeating Evil Geniuses in the Upper Bracket Finals, Fnatic has become the first team to reach the Grand Finals of VCT 2023 Masters Tokyo. EG are not yet out of the tournament as they fall to the Lower Bracket. They must beat the winning team of the Lower Bracket Semifinal series between Paper Rex and NRG series to get to the Grand Finals.
