It has been a busy year for FiReLEAGUE, and this will continue as teams return to Barcelona to compete in their Counter-Strike tournament, the Global Finals. Taking place between Nov 8th, 2023, and Nov 12th, 2023, this will be the second event in two years to take place in the Camp Nou, Barcelona FC’s stadium. This is the third overall Global Finals event organized by the esports company.
The organization was originally started in Argentina, which is shown by their choice of certain venues, earlier this year they had an academy league, which took place in Buenos Aires. The academy league final took place at the Movistar Arena with thousands of guests in attendance, and the organizers will be hoping for a similar level of success in November’s Global Finals.
Who Are the Favorites For The Global Final?
We will see eight teams taking part in the finals, Virtus.pro, Fnatic, Imperial, Movistar Riders, SAW, 9Z, Bestia, and paiN.
Gamblers can find a number of betting markets on the most versatile, secure, and reliable CSGO bet site. This means they can bet on the overall winners of the tournament, but this is just one of the markets that is available to bettors. If they wish, they can also bet on individual matches and who will reach the latter stages of the tournament. Thunderpick also provides loads of different statistics to help people work out whether they think the outsiders are going to win or whether the win will go to the favorites. Will paiN Gaming go one step further this year?
paiN Gaming are among the early favorites, and with the experience they gained at the last tournament it seems likely they will go a long way in the tournament. They performed well in the Camp Nou in 2022, but couldn’t quite win the Global Finals. Their rivals Team Spirit, who won the event, won’t be there for 2023’s tournament.
This is one of those tournaments where all teams have a chance, but Virtus.pro and Fnatic will be expected to go a long way when the tournament gets underway.
A Lot to Live Up To – 2022’s Edition Proves a High Benchmark
The 2022 Global Finals were played at this famous stadium last year, and the event may have found a worldwide home in Camp Nou.
Team Spirit won the event, which is very little surprise because they were one of the top-ranked teams at the time. Team Spirit got to the final by beating WINDINGO and then beating paIN Gaming in the final.
Along with the gambling industry proving a high level of growth in esports, we have a lot of statistics about FiReLEAGUE showing what a popular competition this is, and the potential it has to be a top-tier tournament in the future.
In 2022, the tournament saw over 1.6 million hours watched in total. The peak of viewers was not actually in the final, as 128.3K viewers were watching at the same time in the semi-final between paIN and Imperial. Interestingly, the final had less than half this number of viewers, but the figures for the tournament altogether will be encouraging for the organizers.
The games were broadcast in many countries and had commentary in Spanish and Portuguese, with huge interest in South America.
About FiReLEAGUE
FiReLEAGUE is an annual CS:GO tournament circuit by Argentinian company FiReSPORTS. It was first formed in 2020 when the tournaments were all remote and played over the internet, but as the world has opened up more there have been more chances for tournaments in person.
FiReSPORTS is not the best-known league in the world, but they are real pioneers in South America. They’re one of the only Argentinian companies making this kind of impact.
As well as having some events in huge locations such as Camp Nou in Barcelona, they also have some great sponsors working with the brand.
They also run a CS:GO academy which involves. invited teams from Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay and Peru. They play online for the chance to take part in a grand final in Buenos Aires, with the winners taking $20,000 and having the chance to experience tournament play even at a young age. CS:GO will be evolving to CS2 soon, and FiReSPORTS will continue to help the next pros evolve.
Conclusion
The FiReLEAGUE grand final isn’t the biggest esports title in the world but it is not small fry either. As well as offering the competing teams the chance to play in an amazing stadium, it also has a $150,000 prize fund. The majority of this goes to the winners of the tournament who take home $100,000 between them.
Plenty of esports fans will be tuning in when November’s Global Finals are upon us.
