False Rumors Arousing around Social media about PUBG Mobile insulting the Islamic religion: Since its initial launch in 2017, Player Unknown’s Battleground Mobile, or as it is known by its alias PUBG has been in the headlines. Sometimes for its esports scenario, for its updates, some time for its skin, and recently it was making headlines for its collaboration with McLaren Auto Company.

Recently, PUBG was again in the headlines due to its very recent update. PUBG has a very active user base and has millions of footprints daily on its servers.  However, sometimes it attracts intellectuals, politicians, and even governments due to its violent themes and explicit updates.

This time social media was filled with images claiming that it hurts the sentiments of Islam and Islamic behavior. It was not the first time that this issue was raised earlier, “The Mysterious Jungle” mode was also allegedly claimed to have hurt the sentiments of Islam. Claiming of such issues does not affect the user base and Esports organizations and many Muslim pro-players have also rejected these claims.

Tencent and Krafton also rejected these claims and took the help of social media platform Twitter to confirm them by stating: PUBG MOBILE has received false rumors circulating on social media regarding an alleged update to the game, which includes content insulting to the Islamic religion. Also, PUBG MOBILE would like to confirm that there is no such update, that the game does not include any offensive, offensive, or inappropriate content, and that the images circulating on social media are fake and do not display any actual game or content from PUBGM.

They also added: We would also like to assure the community that PUBG MOBILE respects all religions and cultures, and is keen to provide a respectful and tolerant gaming environment. Please follow the official PUBG MOBILE accounts and pages across social media platforms for the latest official announcements and updates about the game in the region.
