ESL Announces New Global Ecosystem For Competitive Mobile Gaming

ESL, formerly known as Electronic Sports League, the world’s largest esports organizer and production company that produces video game competitions worldwide. ESL Gaming recently announced a global ecosystem for competitive mobile gaming and build worldwide competition around the globe. The team has announced the competition for various mobile gaming titles including Asphalt 9: Legends, Brawl Stars, Clash of Clans, Clash Royale, PUBG Mobile and League of Legends: Wild Rift, and Legends of Runeterra.

Though ESL Gaming has active events for mobile gaming in North America and Europe/MENA regions. But now further plans to expand it towards the Asia-Pacific region. In 2019, ESL Gaming launched ESL Mobile Open in North America and Europe. Now the new ESL Mobile program expands to reach more players across new regions, exciting game titles, and an updated competitive format. Giving an opportunity to top-performing players from amateur and grassroots levels that will move through the competitive ecosystem and earn the spot to compete on the biggest stages in esports.

NEW ECOSYSTEM

ESL will host two full seasons of action in 2021 with the ESL Mobile Spring 2021 season kicking off in April. Each season will consist of two competitive tiers, ESL Mobile Open and the all-new ESL Mobile Challenge. The ESL Mobile Open represents the start of the esports journey and allows players of all skill-levels to compete in top mobile games. Players will work their way through two ladder phases and two play-in opportunities for a spot in the ESL Mobile Challenge phase of the tournament.

ESL Mobile Spring 2021

In the ESL Mobile Challenge, the best players from the Open level will compete against invited teams in a regular season to finals format. All the matches will be live-streamed on the official Twitch channels of ESL Mobile. While the first season of the tournament will be played entirely online, subsequent finals competitions will be held live at major esports events around the world. ESL Mobile will offer players a stake in the over USD $650,000 prize pool.

  • April 12 – May 6, 2021: Mobile Open Play (Ladder #1)
  • May 7 – May 8, 2021: Mobile Open Play-In Weekend (Ladder #1)
  • May 10 – June 3, 2021: Mobile Open Play (Ladder #2)
  • June 4 – June 5, 2021: Mobile Open Play-In Weekend (Ladder #2)
  • June 15 – July 7, 2021: Mobile Challenge Regular Season
  • July 17 – 18 and July 22 – 23: Mobile Challenge Finals
