These upcoming changes will be coming with the Creator Economy 2.0 patch. It will introduce a new economic system that will apparently feature a payout based on the number of engagements based on the islands that creators have released in the game.

Previously, content creators in Fortnite Creative earned money if players used their codes while purchasing Item Shop skins and cosmetics using the Support-A-Creator tab. With the introduction of this new economic system, creators will also be paid based on player engagement in their own maps. This will help creators a lot now. Players can have a better experience on Fortnite Creative while also helping their favorite content creators.

According to a leaked image from Fortnite Creative’s developer community page, the feature has the following description:

“Introducing engagement payouts, a new way for island creators to earn based on what players enjoy.”

Epic Games has not yet revealed the full details of this upcoming economic system. It might be in the future that the developers reveal the amount of revenue generated for a certain amount of player engagement.

Fortnite is not the first game to introduce such an economic system. Roblox is an online game platform and game creation system that has a similar economic system.

Epic Games is will be releasing a Fortnite-dedicated Unreal Editor in the future. It will help players design and develop new games and experiences more smoothly. These can be then published directly into Fortnite. The upcoming Unreal Editor can be used alongside the Fortnite Creative tools.

The Unreal Editor is set to be released on March 22. We believe that Epic Games will be revealing more details about this new economic system during the Creative 2.0 launch.
