Tournament organizer BLAST is organizing the All-Stars Showdown as part of the 2021 Fortnite Champion Series starting June 23. The All-Star Showdown will serve as a mid-year celebration of the FNCS, with elite Fortnite players from across the world battling online for a $3,000,000 prize pool in a range of skill tests and matchups.

New Fortnite Creative maps are scheduled to be used in the event, which will be used to measure “specific player capabilities.” In addition to the Battle Royale mode, the invited top trios will fight in a team-based, non-Battle Royale game.

Following the results of the sixth competitive season in Oceania, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Brazil, and North America, the top 30 trios will compete in the event (West and East). They’ll have to compete on new maps from the creative mode, as well as fight in teams in the traditional “royal battle.”

After that, all trios will be disbanded, and the players will compete for the title of champion in the region in the individual competition.

Nicolas Estrup, VP of Product at BLAST, said: “We’re thrilled to embark on this journey with the talented people behind Fortnite Competitive and the FNCS. Being able to dedicate challenges to showcase all the intricacies of what it means to be a top Fortnite player really excites us and we hope the community will feel the same.

Utilizing the BLAST production, tournament operations and technology expertise in a Battle Royale game is something we’ve looked forward to for a long time. We have taken inspiration from the best of traditional sports and competitive gaming to ensure this new event and format is at the forefront of viewer experiences in competitive gaming today.”
