The UEFA EURO 2020 Cup staged theme for the Fortnite event has been revealed by Epic Games and UEFA. The competition will take place on June 16 and 17, and it will be part of the European Football Championship’s final stage. The official UEFA website published information on this.
The competition will be held in two stages, according to the release. Users will be giving away cash prizes and trophies for Fortnite in the UEFA EURO 2020 Cup. The organizers stated that the first outcome of Epic Games’ collaboration with UEFA will be available on June 16.
“Football is consistently one of the top sports that our players tell us they want to see and experience in Fortnite,” said Nate Nanzer, head of global partnerships at Epic Games.
He further mentioned, “This year has already seen an incredible calendar of football events both in the game and around the world, and partnering with UEFA for the Fortnite UEFA EURO 2020 Cup is one more exciting way to celebrate football with millions of Fortnite players.”
“Huge audiences will be glued to UEFA Euro 2020 this summer and so it seemed like a natural fit to enable Fortnite’s millions of players to be part of the action too,” explained UEFA Marketing Director, Guy-Laurent Epstein.
Following the example of IMG, UEFA is the latest football governing body to test the Fortnite platform, has signed a contract with Epic Games in January to bring 23 football teams into the popular online game.

From June 11 to July 11, 2021, the UEFA EURO 2020 Football Championship will take place. Previously it was scheduled to take place in June-July of 2020 but rescheduled due to concern of covid pandemic. A total of 24 teams will compete in the tournament.
