Dr Disrespect’s Midnight Society reveals ‘DEADROP’ – Since Dr Disrespect announced his AAA game studio, Midnight Society, many have been waiting to see what type of game will it launch. Now, we finally have some news as Dr Disrespect himself has revealed the details of the first game from his studio. It is a Vertical Extraction Shooter (VES) game called DEADROP and has already begun its public development cycle.
DEADROP release schedule
Since DEADROP will be the first game that will be released by the developers from Midnight Society, the team has decided to focus on taking their time in its development. They consider it a better option rather than setting a fixed release deadline and committing to it.

Although a certain release date has not been announced, we do know that a new playable build will be set to launch every six weeks without fail. According to the ‘Snapshots’ released online on July 30, players got to witness what to expect from this upcoming game.
DEADROP game information
Currently, the game will only be available on the PC. People who have Founders Pass NFTs will also have early access to the game. Whether the game will be launched on Xbox or Playstation, we can only know about it in the future.
DEADROP will be a Vertical Extraction Shooter game, an FPS with a mix of both PvP and PvE combat. Different from a regular Battle Royale game, the players will have to fight through a high towering skyscraper, rather than an expansive island. If we take Doc’s early comments into consideration, a fire spreads from the base of the skyscraper. Thus, all players that are trapped within the building have to climb to the top for a chance to get out safely.
Ok so this is a little peek at @DEADROP gameplay!

Similar to other competitive games like Escape From Tarkov, players will join a match with their chosen loot and their objective will be to extract with better equipment. Players will be teleported to a public location called the Hideout in between their games. It appears that this area will allow them to trade loot, test weapons, and customize their loadout.
According to a July 8 post, the developers state “Our high-level gameplay goals are to capture the essence of arena shooter level design with the scale and scope of battle royale player counts, and the session-to-session gameplay mechanics of extraction-based shooters.”
Since the game is still in its early stages of development, detailed information regarding the player counts, loot rarities, and deeper mechanics will be revealed later. But with each six-week cycle, we will be able to learn plenty more about the game’s core details.
NFTs and DEADROP
When Midnight Society’s Founder Pass NFT was announced on March 15, it promised that its first 10,000 owners will have early access to its first game. Now with the reveal of DEADROP, we know who the first 10,000 gamers will be. In minting one of these Founders Pass NFTs, users also generated a unique Variant avatar which can then be traded on crypto marketplaces.
Although Dr. Disrespect has already stated that one does not need to own an NFT to play the game. While addressing the backlash on the NFT announcement, he said that one cannot buy their way to win in the game with the help of NFTs. It appears that the current interaction between NFT and DEADROP is only to act as a foothold for deeper integration in the future.
