Dr Disrespect takes a jibe at the updated Twitch policy
On August 23, Twitch emailed streaming partners to confirm that exclusivity restrictions for partnered and affiliate broadcasters have been removed by Twitch. Even if several simultaneous streaming on “Twitch-type” platforms is still prohibited, it’s okay to use mobile services like TikTok or Instagram Live. “We believe engaging with two streams at once can lead to a sub-optimal experience for your community,” Twitch put out in a statement.
With his movie-level production and 80s action hero character, Dr Disrespect was one of the most popular streamers on Twitch, attracting millions of fans. He reached the peak of his streaming career on Twitch, with over 4 million subscribers and typically drawing in over 50k viewers each time he went live. But violations of Twitch guidelines led to a permanent ban on the purple platform. Even though he can’t take advantage of the new rules, he doesn’t miss to churn content out of this.
