Dr Disrespect revealed that YouTube Gaming extended a figurative handshake, symbolizing a newfound understanding and cooperation. Before the engagement with YouTube, Dr Disrespect had been exploring a potential deal with Kick, seeking a substantial $50 million contract. Enticed by the lucrative $100 million deal secured by Twitch star xQc, Dr Disrespect aimed for half of that amount.
However, Kick’s Head of Product, Paulie Chianese, hinted that the demand was too steep, stating, “I love the Doc. I’ve watched him for years and years. I think he’s one of the most entertaining streamers in the business, but fifty million is fifty million,” in an interview with streamer Big E.
Despite the setback with Kick, a recent post by Dr Disrespect about being followed by YouTube sparked speculation. YouTube, in turn, teased something on social media by posting a black silhouette of a mystery streamer with a question mark over their head, asking users to name the creator. Many comments are predicting that this mystery figure is Dr Disrespect, hinting at a potential exclusive contract offer.
The uncertainty surrounding this development keeps fans on the edge of their seats, eagerly awaiting an official announcement. For now, it appears that Dr Disrespect is content with continuing his streaming journey on YouTube for the foreseeable future.
