DOTA 2: BTS Pro Series Southeast Asia Season 9 Playoffs have kicked off today, check all details of the event.  Before the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) starts, both fans and Southeast Asian teams are getting their dose of Dota 2 from the BTS Pro Series Season 9. The Group Stage which started on 29th October has ended on 8th November, and from today, i.e. the 10th November, the tournament will kick off its Playoffs stage.

There are eight remaining teams in the BTS Pro Series Southeast Asia Season 9 as only Omega Esports got eliminated in the Group Stage because they were in last place in the rankings. The remaining eight teams will now fight to win the major portion of the $60,000 US Dollars prize pool.

BTS Pro Series Southeast Asia Season 9: Format of the tournament

The BTS Pro Series Southeast Asia Season 9 tournament will be played as follows:

  • Group Stage:
    • The teams will play a best of 2 match series.
    •  The four teams at the top of the table will get placed in the Upper Bracket in the Playoffs Stage.
    •  The teams that rank from the 5th position to the 8th position will be placed in the Lower Bracket of the Playoffs Stage.
    • The bottommost team (9th place) will get eliminated.
    • The Group Stage will take place from 29th October till 8th November.
  • Playoffs Stage:
    • The Playoffs Stage will have a double-elimination bracket format.
    • Except for the Grand Finals, teams will have to play a best of 3 match series in the Playoffs Stage.
    • The Grand Finals will have the teams fight in a best of 5 match series.
    • The Playoffs Stage will start on the 10th and end on the 14th of November.

BTS Pro Series Southeast Asia Season 9: Prize Pool of the tournament

The BTS Pro Series Southeast Asia Season 9 has a total prize pool of $60,000. This amount will be distributed among the teams according to their rankings as follows.

  1. The Grand Finals winner will get $24,000.
  2. The Runners-Up team will get $13,800.
  3. The team in 3rd place will get $7,900.
  4. The team in 4th place will get $4,850.
  5. The teams in 5th and 6th places will get $2,850 each.
  6. The teams in 7th and 8th places will get $1,500 each.
  7. The team in the last place (Omega Esports) will receive $750.
