CWG 2022 Esports: India registers a lackluster performance at Group Stages Day 1 of CEC 2022- The first day of the Indian contingent at the Commonwealth Esports Championships 2022 was a lackluster one. In the Rocket League groups, our players were easily bested by the Canadian team. On the other hand, our DOTA 2 team did not play their expected match as the Trinidad and Tobago team failed to show up for the event.
Rocket League: Group Stage Day 1
India was up against Canada in a best-of-5 series in today’s Rocket League matchup. Unfortunately, our team failed to win even a single match. The Canadian team was able to win three continuous matches to seal the series in their favor.
Hopefully, our team led by Hargun Singh can make a comeback tomorrow. India had a smooth journey in the South Asian Regional qualifiers as they defeated every team. They will be facing Wales at 02:45 PM IST and England at 4:00 PM IST.

DOTA 2: Group Stage Day 1
In the DOTA 2 groups, the Indian team’s competitor Trinidad and Tobago failed to show up for the event. Thus, India got a walkover on their only match on Day 1.
Trinidad is not the only team that could not participate in the event. Pakistan, the second South Asian team to qualify for the Commonwealth Esports Championship 2022 in DOTA 2, failed to reach the event location. Thus, their match also got cancelled.
Tomorrow, India will face Wales at 02:45 PM IST and England at 04:00 PM IST. These might be tough matches, especially against England who showcased an excellent performance during the country qualifiers.
