NA LCQ: Cloud9 Blue Defeated Rise and Secured Spot in Highly Anticipated Valorant Champions 2021

At NA LCQ Grand Finals, Cloud9 Blue Defeated Rise and Secured Spot in Highly-Anticipated Valorant Champions 2021: In today’s VALORANT Champions Tour Last Chance Qualifier, Cloud9 Blue overcame Rise and secured the final ticket to the VALORANT Champions tournament.

Rise qualified for the LCQ Grand Final after a stunning undefeated run that included victories over FaZe Clan, Cloud9 Blue, and 100 Thieves. Many people thought Rise was a long shot heading into the tournament, but they’ve shown to be one of the top teams in the region. They also had their share of difficulties, such as supamen disconnecting during their overtime match against Cloud9 Blue. They returned the next day, relegating Cloud9 to the lower bracket, keeping their lead over 100 Thieves, and securing a spot in the grand final.

The teams met in the grand finals for a new best-of-five match-up. Despite qualifying through the upper bracket, Rise Nation was not given a map advantage. C9B was predicted to win by the community on Spike.GG, with 73 percent of votes in their favor.

C9B chose Breeze, just like they did in their first match on October 28. While Rise Nation was able to defeat Breeze in their first meeting, C9B was ready to triumph this time. C9B put in a strong showing, winning the map 13-8 over Rise. Then, on their chosen map, Split, Rise was annihilated. C9B handed the upper bracket winners a 0-13 defeat. Finally, the teams battled it out on Bind. Despite the fact that map three was substantially more competitive than the first two, C9B won the series 13-11.

Throughout the series, not a single member of the C9B has failed to deliver. Erick “Xeppaa” Bach, in particular, finished the series with +23 kills, 1.66 K/D, and 190 ADR. Nathan “leaf” Orf came in second with a strong 151.7 ADR and 1.31 K/D.

C9B will compete in the highly anticipated VALORANT Champions 2021 in Berlin, Germany as the VCT 2021-North American Last Chance Qualifier champions. Beginning December 1, sixteen teams from around the VCT tour regions will play.
