Cloud9 Announced Partnership with Famous Tennis Star- Serena Williams. Serena Williams, a legendary tennis player, and entrepreneur has teamed up with Cloud9 (C9), a North American esports organization, to establish the Training Grounds Championship’s Mindset course. The lesson is aimed to complement C9’s most recent engagement with a high school Esports after-school program.
The first step is to take the free Champion’s Mindset course. Cloud9 Esports established Training Grounds to develop the next generation of dedicated gamers. Esports athletes in middle and high schools are the target audience. The idea is for Training Grounds instructors to develop a competitive gaming curriculum that emphasizes teamwork, critical thinking, and sportsmanship. This is accomplished through youth mentoring, with the goal of making gaming more enjoyable and inclusive.
“Hard work, practice, and dedication are so important when you’re working to become the best and make your dreams come true, whether that be in sport or something different,” Williams said in a statement. “As an advisor on Cloud9, I am excited to team up on their Training Grounds program to help nurture these skills in students everywhere.”
With the new agreement, Cloud9 is poised to take another step toward turning its Training Grounds youth development effort into a full-fledged after-school program, after conducting an online summer camp last year.

Serena’s ‘Champion’s Mindset’ course will be a vital coaching tool in building young gamers who are goal-oriented, healthy, and resilient as we transition our Training Grounds program into schools.”
Cloud9 is a true heavyweight in the esports industry, with professional teams competing in leagues like Halo, League of Legends, Overwatch, and World of Warcraft.
