Supercell announced yesterday that the Queso Cup will return in 2022 with its Golden Edition, which will have a prize pool of $50k and a Golden Ticket to the Clash Royale League (CRL) World Finals 2022. The competition will begin on April 11 and will end on May 1st. Supercell revealed this year that eight of the 16 Golden Tickets for the 2022 CRL World Finals will be distributed through community events.
Players that receive a Golden Ticket will be guaranteed a spot in the World Finals and a massive prize pool of $ 50K, which will take place from September 23 to 25. The first of these tournaments, the Bernard Chong Golden Cup Edition, was completed last month, with Samuel Bassotto of Brazil taking first place.
The Tournament splits up into 3 phases:
- The first phase will be an open-to-all Global Tournament. You don’t need to register anyplace to play the Queso Cup Global Tournament. Simply open the game, prepare your deck, and play. You won’t be able to participate anymore if you lose five games, and your win record will be sealed in the rankings. The 128 players with the most victories will go to the next round of the tournament.
- The top 128 players from the open qualifier will compete in the second phase on April 23rd and 24th, and you’ll be able to watch it in many languages on your favourite streamers’ channels.
- On the 30th of April and the 1st of May, the Grand Finals will be held. The world’s finest 16 players will compete for the title of Queso Cup Golden Edition champion, which will earn them a Golden Ticket and the chance to compete for the title of CRL 2022 World Finals Champion.
Prizes:
- Champion: $30,000 + Golden Ticket
- Runner-up: $15,000
- Third place: $5,000
The CRL World Finals 2022 will take place from September 23 to 25, with a world champion to be crowned. Eight players will qualify through as many community tournaments as possible, while the remaining eight will qualify through the “Six Weeks of the CRL” event. Other than the fact that it will take place in August, Supercell hasn’t announced anything about this event.
