“Despite Apex Mobile’s strong start, the ongoing experience was not going to meet the expectations of our players,” said EA in a statement. “After months of working with our development partner, we have made the mutual decision to sunset the mobile game.” However, according to the company’s FAQ, “under the provisions of the EA User Agreement,” EA is not issuing any refunds for real money transactions.
The reason behind this sudden shutdown is due to Apex Legend’s performance in the market and the revenue that it generates. Though the game is popular among hardcore mobile gamers, it hasn’t quite been able to stand the test of time.
Aditionallay, there’s news about stopping the development of Battlefield Mobile. Battlefield Mobile for Android and iOS is no longer being developed by Electronic Arts, and the game’s developer team, Industrial Toys, has been shut down. While DICE developers continue to work on Battlefield 2042 upgrades and new Battlefield projects, the business will shift away from Battlefield Mobile.
Developers had already delayed season 4 of Apex Legends Mobile which was supposed to have released in January 2023. They had claimed that they need time to fix glitches, and bugs and rectify other prominent issues relevant to the game’s growth. Though players were learning that they might soon receive news, the recent update about the game shutting down was quite unexpected.
