With the success of titles like Call of Duty Mobile and PUBG Mobile, it’s no surprise that Warzone is finally making its way to smartphone devices. There’s no denying how popular Activision’s battle royale title is, but Warzone could reach new heights when it launches on mobile. The shift to mobile makes sense, especially given the size of this market.
Apex Legends Mobile is undergoing extensive testing, so it’s critical that Warzone joins the fray as soon as possible. It’s unclear whether the mobile version of Warzone will be integrated with the PC and console versions, but we do know a few things about the upcoming release.
Tom Henderson, a CoD leaker, revealed that Warzone Mobile is in the works and will be released in 2022. This news comes after Activision confirmed their upcoming PC and console ventures, with Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 confirmed as stand-alone titles. While Activision has yet to confirm, industry insider Tom Henderson believes the game will be released later this year.
The 4th Call of Duty title I'm referring to is Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile.
Not much is known, but it's expected to release this year.

The topic of discussion of Warzone was brought to the forefront the previous year when Activision announced in a LinkedIn post, “Activision Mobile has put up new roles! Teams are concentrating on Live Operations and expanding content across CoD Mobile and Warzone.” The official website of Call of Duty advertised for over 50 positions, many of which were geared toward “a new mobile title.” It’s possible that Activision wants this information to become more widely known in order to compete with EA / DICE’s Battlefield Mobile.
Regardless, if the upcoming mobile title is set to be released later this year, players can expect to receive a notification from Activision about beta gameplay. As with COD Mobile in 2019, a few months of beta testing are to be expected before the title is officially released.
