After the release of the game on 30th Sep 2019, Activision Publishing has officially announced the Call of Duty: Mobile World Championship 2020 sponsored by Sony Xperia. This event will be the first-ever global tournament for the Call of Duty Pro teams.
The event will have a total prize purse of $1 million (£812,200), though the distribution of the same is not revealed by the developers.
We are very excited to launch our highly-anticipated competitive tournament in Call of Duty: Mobile. As the next-evolution in our fan-favourite Ranked Play, this tournament format gives eligible Call of Duty: Mobile players a chance to compete with players from around the world for cash and prizes.
- To be eligible to participate in the Call of Duty: Mobile World Championship 2020 Tournament, players need to be ranked veteran or higher in Multiplayer. All players begin their rank at Rookie I, before progressing through several ranks to reach Veteran I.
- A player must be at least 18 years of age, reside in an eligible region.
- Players must be in good standing with respect to any Call of Duty accounts registered by said player, with no undisclosed violations.
- Players must also be free of or have served fully any penalties from previously breaking any official Call of Duty: Mobile or Activision Publishing rules.
Qualifiers for the tournament will be split into at least two stages. Stage 1 will take place over the course of four weekends between April 30 – May 24. Each weekend, an in-game competition will go live that players who are ranked Veteran or higher will be eligible to enter.
- Weekend 1: May 2-3
- Weekend 2: May 9-10
- Weekend 3: May 16-17
- Weekend 4: May 23-24
The first ten ranked matches in these qualifiers will earn you points, which will be based on both individual wins and current rank, which means you will earn more points the higher your rank.
Anyone who manages to reach 80 points during any of the four Stage 1 qualifiers will advance for Stage 2, in addition to receiving exclusive in-game rewards that will be rotated each weekend to the players.
The teams who qualify for Stage 2 will form a team out of the players who made it that far and continue to participate in online qualifiers.
