BOOM Esports defeat T1 by 3-1 to win the DOTA 2 SEA Tour 1- Southeast Asia is a melting pot of esports with many teams rising up and performing on the international stage. Hence it is not a surprise that the regional finals that take place here are quite intense. This time, it was BOOM Esports who faced their regional rivals T1 in the grand finals of the DOTA 2 SEA Tour 1 and was finally able to come on top and win the tournament. Here is how everything went down.
Game 1
In the first game, T1 picked Lion, Lina, Nyx Assassin, Viper, and Phantom Assassin. BOOM Esports took Kunkka, Death Prophet, Legion Commander, Faceless Void, and Vengeful Spirit. BOOM was able to take pickoffs on T1 which helped them get a gold lead from the early game. They also prevented the T1 heroes from getting farm by continuously ganking them in the lanes and jungle. BOOM won the first game in the 30th minute with a 30-5 kill score and 13k gold lead.
Game 2
For the second game, T1 picked Treant Protector, Queen of Pain, Morphling, Death Prophet, and Crystal Maiden. BOOM Esports picked Kunkka, Beastmaster, Mirana, Troll Warlord, and Weaver. BOOM was able to take a lead in the early game with first blood and maintain it throughout the game. T1 was never able to make a comeback and BOOM Esports won the second game in the 20th minute with a 17-3 kill score and a 17k gold lead.
Game 3
In the third game, BOOM Esports chose Bane, Queen of Pain, Troll Warlord, Pangolier, and Timbersaw. T1 picked Kunkka, Beastmaster, Ogre Magi, Snapfire, and Templar Assassin. Similar to the first two games, BOOM got quick kills which helped them to get a gold lead in the early game. But a mistake from BOOM in the late game transition helped T1 to make a comeback. With their back against the wall, T1 somehow managed to pull off a win against BOOM in the 41st minute with a 27-29 kill score and a 5k gold lead.
Game 4
In the fourth game, BOOM Esports took Templar Assassin, Mars, Bane, Lina, and Windranger. T1 picked Io, Leshrac, Lion, Phantom Assassin, and Legion Commander. The first 15 minutes were quite chaotic as both teams engaged in team fights continuously. BOOM got some quick kills but had to face retribution from T1 who came back strong. Unfortunately, their T1’s magic had ended as BOOM soon gained a lead again and maintained it throughout the game. BOOM ended the game in the 36th minute with a 29-12 kill score and a 33k gold lead.
